Louie's

Louie’s was founded from lived experience of what it’s really like for families living in hospital with a poorly child. Inspired by our son Louie, who spent much of his short life in hospitals, we witnessed firsthand the struggles families face, from the emotional toll to the practical worries that never stop. We became determined to create a charity that would make a real difference for others in the same position.

Our mission is simply to make time in hospital happier for children and to ease the burden on parents. Whether it’s through our parent packs, celebrating special occasions, or taking away some of the everyday financial stress, we are dedicated to helping families focus on what matters most.

We are there every step of the way for families. From the first day in hospital, we provide essentials as parents often don’t have time to pack, pyjamas, toiletries, snacks, phone chargers, to get them through the first few days of admission.

As families settle into their child’s care plan, we offer financial support to ease costs like fuel, parking, and accommodation, while also supplying enrichment through games, crafts, and seasonal activities.

Even after hospital stays end, our support continues. Whether families are adjusting to new routines, facing long term care, or coping with loss, we stay by their side, offering one on one support and connecting them with specialist services to make every moment as meaningful as possible.

Our work is built on our own lived experience of what it’s like for families living in hospital with a poorly child. Everything we provide is based on what we wish we had, combined with feedback from hospitals and families we’ve supported. Our services are constantly evolving and improving as we grow.
