In December 2024, the team at Go North East’s Sunderland depot went above and beyond to spread festive cheer. Colleagues came together to collect donations for our Christmas Eve boxes, gathering activity packs, hot chocolates, and arts and crafts to keep children and their siblings entertained as they eagerly awaited Santa’s arrival.

But they didn’t stop there! For the first time ever, Go North East volunteered their iconic Santa Bus—complete with two festive elves and a real-life Santa Clause, to deliver presents to children at Sunderland Royal Hospital. The night was truly magical, giving poorly children a chance to experience the joy of Christmas despite being in the hospital. The dazzling lights on the bus also created a wonderful sensory experience for children with sensory disabilities, making the night even more special.
